Golden Paste Recipe


for You and Your Pets!


INGREDIENTS:

½ cup organic turmeric powder (Make sure it’s organic so it contains lots of curcumin)

1 to 1½ cups filtered/spring/distilled water

1½ teaspoons freshly ground organic black pepper

¼ cup Holistic Valley organic cold pressed virgin coconut oil


METHOD:

Mix the turmeric with the water in a saucepan, starting with 1 cup water, only add more if needed. Stir the liquid on medium to low heat for about 8 to 10 minutes, it should form a thick paste. If your paste looks watery, add a bit more turmeric and heat it for another few minutes.

Once you’ve got a paste, remove from the heat and add the pepper and oil, then stir it well with a hand whisk.

Allow the mixture to cool, then place it in a jar with a lid and store it in the fridge. It will keep for 2 weeks. It may be frozen if you have made too much!

Taking Golden Paste

Start with ¼teasp 3 times a day (it needs to be taken regularly as it doesn't stay in the body for more than 6-8hours. Increase to ½teasp per day, and keep increasing until you feel you are having enough. Everyone is different, if you want to stop there that's fine! Add to smoothies, food, or eat on it's own.

MEDICATIONS – the pepper increases the absorption, and can therefore do so for medications you are on. If you are on medications, maybe leave the pepper out, and speak to your prescribing practitioner. The curcumin in turmeric does a similar job to many medications, so effects of meds can be heightened. Check by searching on the internet, or seeking advice from your prescribing practitioner. However if you are able to eat curry regularly there should be no problem!


Giving Golden Paste To Your Dog or Cat

Mix the Golden Paste into your pet’s meals, mix with water, or cream (for cats), or use it to make treats. Start with about ¼ to ½ tsp 3x daily, depending on the size of your pet. Increase the amount slowly, up to about a tablespoon for larger dogs. Also suitable for other pets, adjusting the dosage accordingly.
